These days, the internet is a huge ground for financial opportunities. Back in the days, the internet was only used for email purposes, but now, it has grown into the virtual business capital of the world. One of the best businesses to engage in the internet would be forex. Forex trading can be a great source of income, however this is not an easy thing to do. But, things do not come that easy, so you would also need to do your research and get vast amounts of data.

Aside from that, you would also need experience and a whole lot of luck. This may sound a daunting task for most people, but then there are thousands who made huge money from forex trading. How did they do it and what is the difference between a good trader and a bad trader? What should one do in order to achieve the same success in the forex business?

The difficult part of forex trading is the process of predicting the value of the currencies. A currency is not always stable. Depending on the economic, security, and political situation of the country to which the currency belongs, the currency may go up or down. Usually, forex traders would take advantage of this instability to earn a profit.

What traders do is to buy the currency when the value goes so low and sells them again when the value increases or gets back to normal. This is how they traders make a profit. However, what if the currency does not go back to its normal value? This means the trader would be stuck with a worthless currency.

This is exactly why the trader has to do his own research and not simply allow himself to be dictated by his broker. Some brokers are indeed honest, but the trader is the one who ultimately makes the decision. So, it is essential that he learns the history of the currency in order to come up with a more reliable decision.

Are you thinking of hiring a magician?
Have you hired one before?
Do you know what type you want?

There are various types of magic and magicians. Most magicians now specialise in a few areas of magic although some perform only one type.

Here is a general guide of what types of magician are available for a predominately adult audience although a good magician will take you back to being a child.

Close-up magic/ strolling / mix and mingle/ table magic can often be seen at cocktail parties, corporate events, banquets, weddings and generally any party event where the magician mingles and inter acts with the guests performing tricks. This form of magic is ideal for a reception and then when guests are seated at their tables and enjoying the meal.

Cabaret magic is a great way for a large or small audience to see some bigger or more involved magic tricks. Cabaret magic is suitable for most events but is most popular as after dinner entertainment. Sometimes the close up magician will double up and also perform the cabaret.

A lot of magicians include comedy in their cabaret.

More recently mind readers have once again become very popular. Whilst some will include comedy, generally a mind reader is a little more serious and does things like reveal the name of a child hood friend or divine a selected word from a book chosen by a spectator.

If you are looking for larger, flashy magic then it is ideal to hire an illusionist. An illusionist needs a lot more room than a normal magician and works aminsly on a large stage situation.

// ]]>
A magic trick is created to amuse and mesmerize an audience who comes to the show knowing that all the tricks are not real and have fun because they can’t figure out how the magic was done.

You won’t see a magician exposing magic, mainly because telling how a magic trick was done is to kill the thrill and fun in watching them. Magicians wanting to join a group of other magicians are required to give an oath to that effect. Never tell anyone who is not a magician the reason behind a trick and to never show a trick to anyone when you haven’t fully mastered it. Once you gave your oath as a magician, it is expected that you will live up to your promise.

Once you tell somebody and the organization found out about it, you may find yourself not receiving new tricks or that no one is teaching you how another trick is done. Note though, that you can tell it to somebody who is really willing to learn and serious about finding out how to be a magician.

In fact you can see instruction videos and detailed instructions on sale in many shops. This is to help budding magicians into starting their careers or hobbies. Some of the tricks included in these instruction videos are common tricks and very easy to learn. Some magicians also tell their tricks to misdirect others and help them appreciate a new trick that they have done.

Old Old tricks seem to bore adult audiences that they tend to ‘bungle up’ the old tricks in preparation for their new tricks which proves more astonishing.

Magic tricks, once shown how they are done, may be posed with risk of becoming stale. Sometimes it is because you are disappointed at how easy it actually is or maybe because you found out that the trick requires a lot of props to accomplish. This is the reason no magician in his right mind will tell an audience how a trick is done. A magic told is a magic lost. Secrecy is the key and the magic is in keeping those secrets within you.

Magic is a living art, new illusions are propping up and new ways are introduced. Yes, you will see magicians telling their tricks but true magicians will always find their way around it. They will devise new illusions from old illusions and they will get more creative in how they show those illusions.

Magic is defined as a supposed natural prowess of making the impossible seem possible. It can give a person the power to control someone else.

In ancient times, a person who possessed the skills to perform magic tricks also used it for healing purposes. It was also used to keep away bad spirits, to seek the truth when injustice occurs and lastly, used to seek revenge.

‘In Black & White’

There are several types of magic but basically, it is subdivided in two categories: black and white magic. You have seen a lot of movies which depict the good triumphing over evil. This is the same scenario between white and black magic.

White magic is done or performed on the “good” side. It is supposed to be used for the greater good and kindly or harmless methods are employed with this type of magic.

Black magic, on the other hand, is immediately associated with evil purposes. It is said that the evil spirits are called upon when a magician performs black magic.

‘Sorcery & Witchcraft’

Because of the shady or not-so-good reputation of black magic, it is often referred to as sorcery. It is also known as witchcraft, though most of the individuals practicing black magic are actually harmless and they do not have evil intentions.

‘Modern Black Magic’

Nowadays, supposedly there are several procedures and skills that one can learn through the art of black magic.

1. predicting the past and seeing the future through fortune telling

2. searching for a person’s innermost secrets through divination

3. casting a spell on a person by invocations

4. seeking revenge for an enemy through curses

5. having a spirit appear through evocations

6. creating procedures to sharpen one’s wit and further enhance concentration

7. using black magic to heal diseases and end ailments

8. ceremonies and seals to call, evoke, command, or reward spiritsModern witchcraft or black magic has a major misconception of being performed for evil purposes.

By learning about the history and development of black magic from the ancient era to modern times, one will eventually see that it is not something to be afraid of.

Believing in magic can leave you with a sense of wonder about the intricacies of black magic or modern witchcraft and finally put an end the ancient misconception that it is no different from Satanism.

Modern black magic actually teaches about love of nature and harmony between opposite genders and love of nature and one’s self. At the same time, it still leaves us wondering about ceremonials, spells and curses, which make us further appreciate the mysteries of the art of magic.

There are many kinds of magic tricks, but most fall into one of a few categories. Oftentimes, a magician will specialize in one or a few areas. For those who employ a range of techniques, they will often develop some type of persona or specialty act to differentiate themselves from other performers.

Just as other entertainers often find a niche, so too do magicians. While no type of magic is particularly easy, some types are common for beginning magicians, such as learning sleight of hand tricks. Most magicians know a core base of tricks, and then develop their particular repertoire from there.

Magic is based on illusion and mystery, and all types of magic tricks employ this mystery. This is what is so alluring about magic!

Secrecy is of course another major element of magic. Practicing magicians are very selective about who they share their secrets with. People who work with magicians are often required to sign contracts stating they will not share the magician’s secrets with anyone else.

What types of tricks do magicians perform?
The following list is a basic overview of magic tricks that are commonly associated with the practice of magic.

Sleight of hand tricks are those that involve skilled hand movements where objects seem to appear and disappear in the hands of the performer. One of the oldest sleight of hand tricks originated in Ancient Egypt.

In this trick, the performer hides balls under turned-over cups. As the performer moves the cups around, the balls change positions under the cups. The observers try to watch and guess where the balls will appear, but the magician fools them every time!

Sleight of hand tricks are used with a variety of objects, including card, coins, balls, and other objects. Some magicians have even used live animals. A magician skilled in sleight of hand can perform magic almost anytime, anywhere.

Illusions are those where the seemingly impossible becomes possible. Some of the better known illusion tricks include those where a woman is sawed in half and levitation tricks. Other illusions involve making people, animals, or objects reappear.

David Copperfield, a modern-day magician, has made such large objects as the Statue of Liberty and a jet airplane disappear in front of live audiences.

Escape magic is just as it sounds. The most famous escape artist was Harry Houdini, who performed a number of daring escapes in front of large audiences in exotic locations. Suspended high in the air, Houdini would be handcuffed and placed inside locked or otherwise sealed containers and emerge moments later.

Escape magic is intriguing not only because of the amazing feat, but also because of the danger involved.

Mentalists are another form of magicians who appear to read the minds of strangers. In front of live audiences, mentalists will recreate drawings done by audience members that are unseen to the magician, but visible to the audience. They will also read the minds of strangers and perform an array of amazing mental tricks.

The mystery of the mentalist lies in the performance in front of a live audience. Some mentalists in modern times have even created tricks for television where they seem to read the minds of viewers!

How and where magicians perform varies a great deal as well. Street magic, close-up magic, and stage magic all offer amazing performances in vastly different settings.

Street magic is as it sounds, performed outside and in the spur of the moment. Street magic often includes sleight of hand tricks, although a variety of magic is performed this way. One of the most famous current-day street magicians is David Blaine, who performs a wide range of card tricks, disappearing acts, and even levitation on the street.

Close-up magic is performed indoors or out, and often involves such things as card or coin tricks. It is performed just as it sounds–in close range. The audience is small, and the magician sits or stands in the middle, which adds to the allure–when people surround the magician, he or she has little room to “hide” anything. Additionally, when the audience is so close, one might assume the observers could easily see the magician’s tricks–but this isn’t the case!

Finally, stage magic is just as it sounds–magic performed onstage. These magic tricks date back in history to the 1700s, and are often very elaborate performances. Stage magicians offer an extensive range of tricks from sleight of hand to making large objects float or disappear. Oftentimes large animals are involved. There are a number of present-day famous stage magicians, including Siegfried and Roy, David Copperfield, and Penn and Teller.

// ]]>
An amateur magician is anyone who has a minimum amount of talent, skill and knowledge when it comes to performing magic tricks. He or she may be anyone who knows one magic trick or at least three magic tricks. But basically, a more technical definition of an amateur magician is anyone who does not in any way practice magic as their trade, even if he or she knows four, five, six or more than a number of magic tricks. This is regardless of how good, better or excellent he or she may be in performing flourishes, sleight of hand or optical illusions.

However, there are those amateur magicians who try their very best to expand their current knowledge as well as repertoire and still practice magic as their primary source of income. People who do this are usually called hedge magicians. This is in order to differentiate them from authentic professional magicians who make practicing and performing magic as a trade and make an actual living doing so.

Meanwhile a professional magician is anyone who has a little bit more knowledge and talent compared to an amateur magician. These professional magicians know sufficient magic that makes it enough for them to use it as their primary source of trade and income, as well as not using magic to assist them in a trade other than magic.

So technically, even if a barber performs his job using magic and no matter how many tricks he or she knows and is capable of, that barber is still not considered as a professional magician because his primary trade is cutting hairs and not necessarily being a magician.

Another way to differentiate a professional magician from an amateur is by the way he or she does flourishes. According to the Online Encylopedia of Magic, a flourish is any sleight that is performed for the purpose of entertaining an audience and does not in any way contain any moves that are hidden.

Most sleights that are performed are done so in order to deceive a captive audience and to do something that can not be detected. Meanwhile, a flourish is any trick that is done to draw the audience’s attention to the skill of the magician performing the sleight or flourish.

In contrast the real skill of the magician is performing ‘miracles’ using very skillful sleight of hand, which are never seen or suspected by the audience, no matter how close they may be.

Magic is one form of entertainment enjoyed by many people from all walks of life. It is something that will never cease to amaze people both young and old.

If one wishes to become a good magician, it would be a great help to know the various types of magic tricks before performing any.

Magic tricks are done in a wide variety of ways and fall into different types;

1. The first one is called close up magic. It’s the type that requires the least skill and many can do it with just a little practice. It usually involves the use of simple things such as a deck of cards, some small balls or a coin. It entails making people believe in one thing but doing something else. This kind of trick proves that the hand is faster than the eye.

2. The next type is called platform magic. This is done in a much larger scale than the first. Some tricks of this type that are well-known include cutting a person that is inside a box in half or making a person who’s lying down levitate in the air after the table below has been removed.

3. The third type, which is very tricky, is called stage magic. Such performances are done quite rarely but when performed, they can become one great magic extravaganza. Such type includes making the statue of liberty disappear or walking through the Great Wall of China.

Innumerable magic tricks and trick lessons make it possible for a lot of people to learn how to become one good magician. This can be accomplished by buying a magic set or reading a book. Many of these people started while at home, watching how other people do it. Other people who have some experience have talked with others and learned a trick or two. One can start with a small audience then have a larger one later on.

To those who want to do more extreme magic, one should invest more into the trade, learn from others then make a mark to be truly called a magician.

One trick of the trade is to remember that no magician, either a beginner or an expert, should ever reveal the secrets of doing a trick to his or her spectator.

Also, no magician has ever become successful overnight. Practice and reinvention can help a lot in getting near that coveted status of a magician — the famous and most loved one.

Magic is all about performance and creativity, so the rules of magic are extremely limited. But having said that, it’s vital that you follow the rules that do exist, as they’re designed to maintain the mystery and credibility of magic.

Break one of the four rules that follow and you’ll waste the hours of practice that you’ve put in to perfect the tricks that you perform. Oh yes, hours of practice are required to make magic tricks look convincing. That’s the fourth rule of magic, but we’ll come to that in a moment.

1) A Magician Never Reveals How A Trick Is Done

If you do a trick well, people will ask you how you did it. It’s guaranteed. But a magician never tells, because the moment someone knows how a trick is done, the mystery vanishes.

So resist the temptation to spill the beans. If necessary, perform another trick to take the pressure off, because the moment people know your secret, the time you took to learn the trick is effectively wasted.

There is of course one exception to the rule.

If you know someone who is genuinely interested in performing magic, and you can trust them not to spread the secret, give them all the encouragement that they need.

After all, new generations of magicians need to learn otherwise the secret of magic would die out.

2) Find The Right Audience

Your magic will have the greatest effect when you find the right audience. If people aren’t in the right frame of mind your efforts will be lost on them. So don’t just accost people at random and start showing them card tricks.

The best situation is when people ask you to show them some magic.

And once you find the right audience, don’t hit them with trick after trick after trick. If you do that, they’ll lose interest and the magical effect will be lost.

It’s a fundamental rule of showbusiness – Always leave your audience wanting more. That’s what creates part of the mystery that surrounds magicians. It’s just a case of learning when to stop, as some people have more of an appetite for magic than others.

3) Quality Is Far More Important Than Quantity

Who cares whether you can do 100 or 200 tricks! Most people aren’t ever likely to see you performing more than handful of different tricks.

So focus on a few of your favorite tricks and learn them to perfection.

Think about it. Would you rather see an amazing trick performed perfectly or a string of average tricks?

Just remember – A trick that isn’t perfect isn’t magic.

4) Practice, Practice, Practice

You’ve just learnt a new trick and you’re keen to see what type of reaction it creates.

But if you really want to amaze people with your magic, don’t even think about showing anyone until you can perform it perfectly every time.

And that means hours and hours of practice!

In fact some of the more complex, and therefore more spectacular tricks, might take weeks or even months of practice to get right.

And once a trick is perfect, practice some more.

Let’s face it, if you perform a trick before you’re ready, people will see through it and you’ll compromise all the hours that you’ve already spent learning how to do it.

So remain patient and keep practicing. And when you finally pull the wraps off your latest trick it will be worthy of the name, magic.

// ]]>
We are part of a very busy society. Just look at any job ad. “Multitasking” is not merely a desirable extra in an employee; for many employers it’s a prerequisite. Next day delivery, ATMs, microwave ovens and TiVO help us to speed up certain things in life so we can move on to the next task. There always seems to be something to do. Boredom seems like a relic from a time period long gone.

But while automation and faster service have improved many facets of our lives, some things just cannot be rushed. Things like building relationships, cooking a decent pot roast or establishing an online business. Yes, establishing an online business cannot be rushed! It seems strange that when building a business online, you really need to slow down, since everything about the internet seems to be centered on speed. One of the main things that turn people off of starting their own online business is distraction. People try to take what works for them in the “real world,” rushing from one task to the next, and of course, expecting the results to happen just as quickly.

No one would expect a traditional business to turn a profit in the first few weeks. Most would consider it a success if the business were to break even in its first year. Even though a person who is starting an online business is free from the usual things that can stifle a traditional business, the same commitment, dedication and focus is necessary. Now, focus usually isn’t included in the list of things a person should be aware of when starting an online business. But it will be the one aspect that will make or break your business efforts. But of course focusing is easier said than done. With so many conflicting views and thousands of business opportunities, just getting started can be the most difficult task of all.

First things first, pick an opportunity that you are interested in. It doesn’t have to be something that you are really passionate about. Anything from a mild curiosity to a casual interest is fine. So many books and programs go into detail about promoting something that is already your hobby. I don’t know about you, but there’s not a big demand online for some of my hobbies (I’ve checked). Try to pick something that interests you and is in demand.

Secondly, set a budget. This will help you focus on what is necessary for building your business and what would just be an impulse purchase. A good idea is to write down products or services that look interesting but not within your budget at the time. When more money starts coming in and you want to reinvest it in your business, you will already have a list of products to research that can possibly boost your income or free you up from mundane tasks associated with your business.

Thirdly, set aside a minimum amount of time each day to dedicate to your business. You might want to focus on marketing one day and writing articles for additional content the next. Setting a schedule and sticking to it will work wonders for your ability to focus and grow your business effectively.

Make sure to take time out for self development. This is something that many new online businesspeople have failed to do (present company included). Keep up your exercise routine (if you have one), make sure you take time to pray, meditate; attend church or whatever you do to recharge your spirit. Remember to spend time with friends and family. Most people want to start a home based business so they can have more time to spend with their family and friends. So spend time with them now so they will still be around when you have more free time to spend with them! Remember, it’s not just about money; it’s about improving your quality of life.

Remembering to apply these simple steps will help you to lessen the frustration that will come when establishing your online business. Also, keep in mind that determination and focus can make up for what you may lack in expertise!

Success is just over the horizon. Can’t see it? Well then, focus!
